Ascentive program

Purchased this program hoping to speed up my computer, when I received the disc, after loading the free program, could not contact the company. NO information came with the disc to have any contact, and could not find the information to find their information. I cannot use the program at all it will scan and tell you you have problems, but will not fix them until you sign on. Well I had already used a password etc. and could not get in with that one, nor could I get a new one. I would not recommend this program at all.

Ascentive performance cleaner program

i tried this ascentive program that supposed to clean the registry etc. i already have a rock solid solution but was interested in what a free program would tell me - kind of like getting your palm read to see how on or off the reader is. well the *** program aside from being a shiesty marketing cover managed to leave a turd of its own on my computer by not uninstalling itself upon uninstallation. just go ahead and delete the folder: c:program filesascentive it's ok even though the registry entry is still there and pointing to nothing. have a nice day fellow suckers!

NEVER DEAL WITH ASCENTIVE !

I received an email from Ascentive offering Active Speed for US$59.95, and full refund if not satisfied. I bought it. At browsing their Internet website, I discovered a special offer at US 29.95 ! They also mention a retail normal price of US $39.95. I emailed for more explanations and canceled my purchase. They refund me only US$ 30.- ! Problem: I live in Europe and cannot suit them. But I will forward my complaint to our local Computer magazines. Don't even think of answering directly their emails: they send "no reply" emails, and you have to start again from their consumer support web page. This is a huge fraud.

Ascentive

Absolute Uninstaller kicks out Ascentive from your PC(first click remove, then click link to Ascentive folder, then delete the folder to recycle bin), RegCleaner erases it completely from registry. Shareware rulezz.. Those so called software providers who claims to scan your computer and then dont clean and fix nothing, if you don t buy their product, are fraud.. Often their "results" are showing false and their programs crashes your computer and slows it down.. I prefer quality, modern shareware, it never let me down and my PC is as fast as it was first day i put it together and installed OS.

I will even take it a step further, people should consider freeware (I.E. AVG Virus Scanner or Avast!

Virus Scanner, AdAware Anti-spyware, CCleaner, etc) or even going to Free and Open Source software (FOSS).

There is a free and open source program for almost anything you could ever want to do with your computer, and you don't necessarly need to be running a *nix operating system to use some of the best programs. (Like GIMP a powerful image-editing suite that photoshop users would be familiar with, or Openoffice.org which is more functional than MS Office and costs $0, both are cross-platform as are so many other FOSS programs)

Happy computing, and stay safe people.

Ascentive-I Hate It!

I want this mess off my computer! I've had nothing but trouble since I got it, slow as heck, and it keeps locking up. How can I get a refund? Its name is not indicative of its action "Finally Fast". It just bogged my PC down with stuff I don't need. Is there someone I can call to get my money back? Why do I need 100 words to explain what the problem is....why can't I just say what I mean and be done with it? Well, well well well well well well well well done!

I purchased this program and my computer ran better for around five days, then starting freezing. At that time, pop-ups soliciting the purchase of additional packages kept popping up.

I can't believe no one has stopped them from advertising. They are total frauds. Youre buying a virus when you purchase this product.

When I sent them correspondence stating so, my computer crashed five hours later. Hmmmm.....

They advertise via spam eMail, they promise things NO piece of software can do, if you take that piece of code apart they are offering, you find a lot of codelines that are commented out and every regular, reliable virus protection tells you that the thing is dangerous.

If you need a Registry cleaner, head over to Piriform where you'll not only get this, but also Recover, Defragmenter and a nice little Specification Watcher for a great price: 0,00 US$, no strings attached - and the stuff is clean and works.

#172286

Hey, ***

You are a TOOL! I bought this useless piece of *** to help me speed up cleaning my registry!

There's a lot of legitimate apps out there and this one is a Microsoft partner (supposedly)! These people (like me)aren't as naive as they've been ripped off by an unscrupulous company!!!

#124580

I know it's a bad thing to say, but anyone who falls for something as blatantly fraudulent as this deserves whatever it is that's coming to them. Honestly, who in their right mind would PAY for something that could be better obtained by utilizing one of the countless free tools found all over the Net?

The stupidity of the average American consumer never ceases to astound me.

Let this be a lesson to you folks; spend a little bit of time actually learning how your PC works and never again be taken for a ride by unscrupulous businessmen who pray on the naivety and stupidity of consumers. There is no such thing as a miracle, cure-all program that universally "speeds-up" the performance of every computer on the planet.

#121617

I'm glad I googled Pc Scan Pro before I downloaded it, thanks guys.

#117784

You ppl fail that program works completly fine. Iv used it and it fixed my computer in a heartbeat. Stop trying to advertise ur own products over other by slandering their name :P

#108259

Right, this is a scam! I got suckered in, but it won't happen again. I am not too savvy on computers but I am going to take it out of the control panel, add and remove programs, and hope that its gone for good.

If anyone is still having problems with this software, as I just received an email today, there is the whois info below... I didn't buy it cause I was lucky enough to look it up first. Anything that makes claims such as this does is too good to be true an I really wish people would understand that.

But if anyone still wants to get their hands on the guy, here's that info. Have fun.

Did not open account for me in spite of my payment

Ascentive software offered to increase the speed of my computer and improve my service. I paid 29.95 by credit card, but have never been sent an password by email as promised. I sent an email to "customer service" and the information given me was they would "get back to me in one business day." It has now been 5 days, (two of them "business") with absolutely no response. The promo and log-on keep coming up, but I have no way of logging in. I want my money back and wish I had never attempted to "improve" my situation. I am elderly, retired, frustrated, and don't know what to do next.

ASCENTIVE Address/Fax/Phone CEO NAME HERE

Ascentive LLC 201 Spring Garden St. Suite 400 Philadelphia , PA 19123 1-88*-550-**** Fax: 1-21*-320-**** CEO Mr. Adam Schran: I just wrote him certified return receipt requested to CANCEL. I did NOT complete the BILL screen and still got charged. There is no real way to cancel and I had to send an Ascentive email to Sales but a copy of that email is not auto mailed to my email address so I have no proof I even sent an email to them. They charged my credit card 25 Jul 08 but I did not notice until today so in addition to emailing them using their website, I disputed the charge with my credit card company AND i sent a certified/return receipt requested to the CEO. Ascentive deserves all the negative google complaints I found on line about them.

Called co ascentive closed have hour before

ascentive didnt answer phone during business hours and over charged the credit card three times yes I'm pissed, cancel my order asap! have a nice day! actually it was overcharged by by four times and over priced one of the charges. they should give those products to me for nothing, that is theft by deception. they also solicit other programs to make the programs they are selling work better, why? they don't work good enough by themselves? this is why no one trusts the Internet, i would like to know how many other people have had similar problem with this company! I'm pissed!

Advertising Software as Free when it is Not

No scan free downloads should demand you card, and you are falsely advertising free scans when they are not FREE. I am fed up with companies like yourself who offer free services but demand customers reveal their credit cards. Free services should be free and my credit card number is my personal business. My computer does need software to improve it's ram. You aren't the only company who advertises "free" scans than after the scans revealing problems won't fix them unless you buy their software. PC Tools do the same thing only to a waste my time.

Solution to delete Ascentive from computer

After downloading Ascentive, I noticed no difference in my internet speed. Like many others that downloaded the trial version of Ascentive, I was scratching my head trying to remove it from my computer. The control panel had no listing for Ascentive under Add or Remove programs. The program removal tool within CCleaner (a very good free registry cleaner) had no listing either. The solution for removal is fairly simple. Right click on the start button and choose explore from the start menu. When it opens, you will see the program folder. Open the program folder and you should see the folder for Ascentive. Right click on the folder and press delete from the menu. This will remove most everything from the computer. To finish the removal, download and run CCleaner (a google search will get you to the download site and it is free). Run the registry cleaner (be sure to back it up per the directions....very easy), and when you make the corrections to the registry, all traces of Ascentive will be removed.

I did what Me did. I right clicked on the Ascentive icon in the bottom right of desktop & chose "Exit", the icon disappeared & I was allowed to delete all the Ascentive folder junk.

Hurray, I found a way to remove any program that says you can't continue because some things open. Go to the program (Ascentive's tools) and click on settings.

Turn off auto launch at start up.

Then restart your pc and go to your add/delete routine. Good luck!

#144353

geniemc-I also had problems with removing this. I was never able to uninstall any of the programs using add/remove but someone told me about using revo uninstaller.

It's a safe program you can download for free online and worked well for me to uninstall this software so it might be worth a try. Hope this helps!

#121149

I too downlowned FinallyFast and was able to remove all programs except for the SpyStriker. Doing a restore does not remove, add/remove programs does not remove.

I get message that cannot delete AdviceTx.vdx. I need help on removing this from my computer.

#39186

I tried everything to remove all the *** Ascentive Programs from my PC using, Uninstall Programs, opening up the folders and trying to delete them all, which it wouldn't let me do and using CC Cleaner. I finally contacted my PC Manufacturer's Support Center and the Tech Rep told me to do a System Restore to a date before I installed the *** programs. It worked and now my PC is Ascentive Free!!!

Software caused Windows to crash

I bought Ascentive's software package that claim it would speed up my laptop. Almost immediately, it screwed up nearly all functions. It would start scanning on its own and prevent me from performing any other tasks while this was going on. Sometimes this continued for hours! It was particularly bad while I was on a business trip and had a room full of people waiting for me to retrieve something on my laptop, which I couldn't do because the *** scan just wouldn't quit! Eventually, Ascentive's software caused Windows to crash, and I had to hire a tech to retrieve my files (I'm self-employed). PS--I never found a way to contact them. Beware!

Outright ***

In Australia this company would be taken to court for false advertising. 'Down Under' we simply describe Ascentive Software as full of ***. Surely there is some form of restriction that can remove these crooks from the web, and protect innocent people? Having removed everything pertaining to this suspect company from my computer, I am now receiving unwanted email, expounding how 'brilliant we are'. Try and unsubscribe from these *** and you will experience 'error' all the time. Apart from the *** they peddle on the web, the persons responsible should be in jail. What a joke! Accentive Software Lack of Voice Phone Numbers

Take a look at Ascentive's Website and notice how it is next to impossible to obtain a voice phone number by which you can contact them. What kind of company lists only a fax number for their Corporate Offices? I find it to extremely suspicious that they do not allow customers to contact them directly and resolve issues such as billing issues and attempts to resolve charges which the customers dispute. Look at their website and see what happens when you click on the "Sales & Billing" option on the support center web page. It appears to deliberately evade the issue of questions relating to customer billing and how you might contact them directly via voice.
